The 56th Floor of Montparnasse Tower: Indoor View & Activities

Many visitors rush to the roof, but the 56th floor is where you'll spend most of your time, especially if it's windy, raining, or cold.

The Comfort Factor

This floor is fully enclosed, heated in winter, and air-conditioned in summer. In a city where weather can change quickly, this sanctuary allows you to take your time enjoying the view without shivering.

Augmented Reality & Technology

Touch-screen kiosks (Timescopes) are placed around the perimeter.

• Identify: Point at a building on the screen to see its name and history.
• Time Travel: Some kiosks allow you to toggle the view to see how Paris looked in different eras! You can see Lutetia (Roman Paris) or Medieval Paris overlaid on the current view.

The Cinema Corner

There is often a small theater area playing a short film about the history of Paris and the construction of the tower. It is a nice 5-minute break for your legs and gives context to the massive structure you are standing in.

The Shop

A decent souvenir store offering more than just tacky plastic:

• Standard Eiffel Tower keychains (of course).
• Quality books on Paris architecture and photography.
• "I climbed the Montparnasse Tower" merch (t-shirts, mugs).

The Café (360 Café)

Not to be confused with the fancy Ciel de Paris restaurant, this is a casual snack bar. Grab a sandwich, a waffle, or a beer and sit by the window. It is the highest snack bar in Paris!
