How to Get to the Montparnasse Tower: Metro, Bus & Parking

The Montparnasse Tower is located in the 15th arrondissement, bordering the 6th and 14th. It sits directly above one of Paris's largest transport hubs: Gare Montparnasse.

By Metro (Montparnasse-Bienvenüe)

The station Montparnasse-Bienvenüe is huge. It serves lines:

• Line 4: (Purple) Connecting North/South (Châtelet, Gare du Nord).
• Line 6: (Green) The semi-circular elevated line (Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe).
• Line 12: (Dark Green) Connecting Pigalle/Montmartre.
• Line 13: (Cyan) Connecting Invalides/Saint-Lazare.

Warning: This station is a labyrinth! The walk from the Line 4 or 12 platforms to the tower exit can take 10+ minutes underground, involving long moving walkways. Look for Exit (Sortie): Look for signs pointing to "Tour Montparnasse" or "Place Raoul Dautry".

By Bus

Many bus lines stop right at the foot of the tower, often a more scenic way to arrive:

• Lines 28, 58, 82, 89, 91, 92, 94, 95, 96.
• Night Bus (Noctilien): N01, N02, N12, N13, N61, N62, N63, N145 (useful if you stay for a late dinner).

By Train (SNCF)

If you are arriving from Bordeaux, Rennes, or Nantes via TGV, you will arrive at Gare Montparnasse. The tower is right outside the "Porte Océane" exit.

The Entrance

The entrance for the Observation Deck (Ciel de Paris/Panoramic Visit) is NOT the main office entrance.

• Go to the side of the tower facing Rue de l'Arrivée.
• Look for the dedicated tourist entrance with "Paris Montparnasse Top of the City" branding.

Parking

Driving in Paris is not recommended, but if you must:

• Parking Indigo Tour Montparnasse: Located underground.
• Entrance: Accessible via Rue du Départ and Rue de l'Arrivée.
• Cost: It is expensive (typical Paris rates), so public transport is highly recommended.
